Barely a day after women parliamenterians and other leaders led  by the chair lady of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Sabina Chege visited Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on a fact finding mission over rape allegations at the New born Unit, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dispatched sleuths to probe the allegations.

The detectives will conduct interviews with the patients, staff and visitors as well as go through CCTV evidence to ascertain the truth.The detective dispatched have been given a period of one week to come to the bottom of the matter and submit their reports.The detectives have been dispatched after a number of victims came out alleging that morgue attendants have been raping nursing mothers at the new born unit.KNH management had since dismissed the allegations saying that they were baseless and no victim had reported any incident to the security."We have been disturbed by the alarming reports on social media and we advise you all to ignore them," said Dr Lily Koros, the CEO of Kenyatta National Hospital on Friday.Health cabinet secretary Cleopa Mailu ordered investigations into the allegations on Friday and instructed the hospital administration to beef up security at the hospital.
