Investigation into the death of a Milele secondary school student who reportedly consumed methanol has started.
Naivasha deputy county commissioner Isaac Masinde said the student had just completed his KCSE exams last week.
"We are investigating reports that the deceased with five others took the substance from the laboratory after completing their afternoon paper on November 24," said Masinde.
Masinde added that police got the information from one of the student who fell sick after consuming the substance.
"One of the student who took the substance provided information to the police and it is helping in probing," he added.
He urged teachers to be keen when students are using laboratories for their tests.
"Teachers should stop assuming that students knows everything. They should always guide them to stop any attempt by students to drink the chemicals," he advised.
