The MPs, led by Nakuru Town West legislator Samuel Arama, condemned the chaos, calling for the arrest of those who orchestrated it.

“We are calling for the arrest and prosecution of those who interrupted President Kenyatta’s rally in Migori,” the ODM MP said.

“Cord owes Kenyans an explanation in relation to the chaos.”

Arama said it was unfortunate that some unnamed leaders were out to embarrass the president, saying such acts should never be tolerated.

The outspoken lawmaker indicated that some politicians allegedly paid rowdy youths to disrupt the president’s meeting.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri said that such acts are primitive and should not be tolerated. He added that the chaos have painted a negative picture of the county’s politics.

He called on Kenyans to be tolerant, saying that the Jubilee government will fulfil its mandate without favour.

President Kenyatta was forced to cut short his address after some youths disrupted the meeting when Migori Governor Okoth Obado was speaking.

At least five people have been arrested in connection with the mayhem.
