An alleged drunk probox driver on Monday caused a grisly accident in Kerina area along the Kisii-Migori Highway killing three people on yhe spot and injuring two others.
Confirming the accident, Kisii South OCPD Abdi Ganze said the probox was heading to Nyachenge from Suneka when it veered off the road and rammed into a shop.
“Two men and one woman who were standing by the road side at Kerina shopping center died on the spot while the driver and one male passenger suffered multiple injuries,” said Abdi.
The OCPP said the driver looked totally drunk and empty bottles of alcohol were found in the car.
The injured were rushed to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Abdi, warned the area drivers from driving while drunk.
