Kisumu County Senator Prof. Anyang Nyongo has urged the youth to form groups to uplift their economic base. Nyongo told Kisumu County youth to borrow a leaf from the TUPINDI Sacco in Kisumu city to be able to advance in their savings. The Senator said a well structured organization is capable to instill discipline and hard work among the young people. He said TUPINDI is dedicated to uplift the lives of their members through savings and borrowing. “There is potential among the youth but they must come together to organize themselves and grow,” he said. Speaking at the TUPINDI Sacco offices in Kibuye market where he donated to them a computer, Nyongo said every youth group must be formed for a particular goal. Kisumu Central CDF Manager Nahashon Ngwena appealed to the Senator to help uplift some youths to the developed countries to learn how to assembly motor cycles. Ngwena said it is very worrying that assembling of the cycles is still done by the Asian who import them. “Our youth have the expertise in assembling these motor bikes but still you can assist them to be airlifted to these developed countries and learn how to assemble, this will create jobs,” he said. Nyongo accepted and announced that he will be in talks with embassies of Malaysia, Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea amongst other countries to assist those youths.
