Moi University Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Laban Ayiro has officially handed over his office to the newly appointed VC Prof. Isaac Kosgey.
Speaking after handing over the office, Ayiro wished his successor well in his endeavors and assured him of his support.
"I want to sincerely congratulate my friend Prof. Kosgey on his appointment as the new Moi University VC. I will accord him my 100 percent support for the improvement of the institution," said Prof. Ayiro after handing over the office, Wednesday.
"I also thank the government and the University Senate for believing in my leadership and I will continue being Moi University ambassador," he added.
The new Vice-Chancellor promised to take the University to the highest level.
"It's a great opportunity for me and I thank the government of Kenya for the appointment and I promise to be a servant leader. It is a big institution but I am up to the task," noted Prof. Kosgey.
Education Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohammed appointed Prof. Kosgey as the new VC ending controversies that had surrounded the appointed of a substantive VC at the Kesses-based Moi University.
