The outgoing Moi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro has revealed what he remain a lecturer at the university after he was replaced by the newly appointed VC Prof. Isaack Kosgey.
Prof. Ayiro served as an acting VC for over a year.
"I am proud of this university and I will go nowhere since I had a great experience as the acting VC. I will still be part of the Moi University staff where I will continue teaching my PhD students," said Prof Ayiro after handing over the office to his successor Prof. Kosgey on Wednesday.
"I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be acting vice chancellor to one of Kenya's biggest University and I promise to work hand in hand with Prf. Kosgey to take the University to great heights," he added.
Ayiro reiterated that he will continue upholding the University's image by being the institution's ambassador.
“I know we were in a competition with my brother but let’s forget it and find ways of making the university not only the best in Kenya but in entire Africa. I wish Kosgey well as he steers the university to the next level,” he noted.
