Speaking in Turbo constituency when giving out scholarship opportunities to needy students through his foundation, Bitok said if given the opportunity, he will make sure funds are well spend and not returned to the Treasury.

“You know the campaign period has not been officially opened but when that time comes I will come back to ask for your support. I know this time around you will elect me as your governor,” said Ambassador Bitok, who lost to Mandago in 2013 polls.

He also urged politicians to tread carefully and avoid inciting the public.

Nandi County Health officer Edward Serem has also declared interest in the county top job.
