Uasin Gishu Senator Prof. Margaret Kamar has termed as normal the ongoing transfer of head teachers across the country by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).Prof. Kamar, a former Minister of Education who served in the grand coalition government says there must have been a reason why the teachers have been transferred.Speaking in Eldoret on Friday, the Jubilee allied Senator, however, reiterated on the need for concerns being raised by various stakeholders over the transfers to be listened to.Teachers Unions, KNUT and Kuppet together with a section of church leaders have faulted TSC for making the decision on the transfers without consulting them."I have never been uncomfortable with the transfer of teachers and I believe the ministry together with TSC must have a good reason of doing that," said Prof. Kamar."When you are a teacher you swear to teach anywhere in this country and this is what should happen but it's also good for TSC to listen to concerns being raised," she added.About 557 headteachers across the country have been transferred in what TSC has termed as a delocalization exercise.
