Former Commission of University Education CEO Prof David Some has hailed the new education curriculum.

He said the system will provide enough period to form character in a learner compared to the current 8-4-4 system.

"The new curriculum will help focus on content-based teaching to make Kenya's skill development more competitive," he said at Greenvale School in Eldoret town, Tuesday.

"Foundation and peer review are very critical to a child’s wholesome development and this new curriculum just does that," he added.

He, however, urged the government through the Ministry of Education not be in a hurry in implementing the new curriculum.

"The system implementation should start from Early Childhood Education (ECDE) and they should ensure more funds and enough teachers are deployed," noted Prof Some.

He urged Kenyans of good will to support the new curriculum since it has more good than harm to students.
