A politician from Nyaribari Chache constituency Ben Mogaka has raised a red flag over the increasing number of professional mourners and members of bereaved families out to con unsuspecting politicians millions of shillings by trickery.
Speaking at Nyangeni primary school in Nyaribari Chache constituency where he launched a pilot feeding program in schools, he noted that there is a group of people who call politicians and ask them for money claiming they have lost their loved ones, only for them to discover it is was a trick of getting some cash.
“This has been happening in our area when somebody calls and others are pretending to be screaming from the background," said Mogaka.
"Once you send them money they appreciate but later start playing games on you when you inquire for more details as one way of helping them more,” said Mogaka.
He noted the mourners are taking advantage of the impending electioneering period to con unsuspecting aspirants millions of shillings for selfish political interest.
He, therefore, urged the members of the society to expose those characters who will make politicians and leaders not to come to their aid because of the trickery.
