A group of professionals drawn from Nakuru county has endorsed the candidature of Deputy President William Ruto and Parliament majority leader Aden Duale as president and running mate respectively in the 2022 race to State House.

The professionals, made the recommendations on Tuesday after President Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn-in for a second term in office.

Speaking in Molo, group representative Michael Bowen said Duale's appointment will rule out the perception that leadership is only meant for a few communities.

"Since democracy has risen and closed ethnic and religious gaps, Duale is fit for the post."

"We are happy that the Jubilee Party administration has united Kenyans regardless of their ethnicity," he added.

According to Bowen, Duale deserves the post because he has managed to stand with DP Ruto in thick and thin.

"So as to prove that anybody can lead this nation, we request the DP to consider Duale as his deputy when he takes over from Uhuru," he added.
