A professor in Kisii town has openly said that he is not interested in any position under the Kenya Social Congress (KSC) party.
The professor, Tumbo Oeri, has said that he is not interested in any political position but rather in the sensitisation of the Kisii community on the importance of having a party that represents the people.
Addressing delegates at a Kisii hotel on Tuesday during the KSC forum, Oeri said the community needs to be educated on the importance of joining the party so that their voices can be heard.
''We need to sensitise our residents on the importance of having a one political party as a community since it will help us have the bargaining power under any government,'' said Oeri.
He added that the community has been sidelined by other major parties simply because the community is always divided. In addition, he said if the community wants to be respected and heard, they should support their own party which will enable them to have a common goal for development.
''This is the time we need to be together as the community so that in the next election we win,'' added Oeri.
