Known within legal cycles, anyone who is interested in Human Rights advocacy cannot deny having come across Otiende Amollo, a lawyer of international repute.
And when he was given chance to present NASA’s case in the Supreme Court, his coherence and flaw of legal procedure led to various acknowledgments on the social media especially from NASA team.
But his stylistic grasp on law was not a surprise if at all anything in his 16- page CV seen on the internet is anything to go by.
Now serving as Rarieda MP-elect, Otiende comes from a political family given that his sister, Elizabeth Amollo Ongoro Masha is not a stranger in Kenyan politics having served as Kasarani MP.
He went to Maranda High School just like his client Raila Odinga before joining University of Nairobi for a Law degree which he completed in 1995.
Having completed his first degree, Amollo joined master’s programme in the same institution where he completed in 2004.
A quick preview of his profile shows areas where he has served including Ombudsman now known as Commissioner of Administrative Justice.
He has been awarded a host of honours among them Elder of Burning Spear by President Mwai Kibaki in 2010 among others,
At the Supreme Court, he tackled electoral processes where he accused IEBC of conducting elections without verifying.
