Kikuyu Deputy County Commissioner Elias Kithaura has today warned that any youth parties have to be approved by the police as ‘Project X’ related parties have been banned.

This is after party set to be in Kileleshwa, Nairobi dubbed project x was cancelled by the government after it was suspected to be a party that corrupts morals. The party’s slogan “no one goes home a virgin’ went viral leading to be cancelation of the party.

Kithaura who spoke on Friday at Kigumo-ini in Kikuyu said that social media advertised parties are restricted and cannot take place if not authorised by the government. He said that such parties have been corrupting youth morals especially form four leavers.

He said that the fact that they have been planned and organized via social media, it was difficult for their parents to realise as they do not participate in social media activities. He said that police are on the lookout for such events that are planned and attended without permit of such parties.

“Any party has to be approved by the police who will issue a go ahead if they are convinced it’s genuine. I want to warn parent s who allow such parties taking place in their house without permits that they will be prosecuted,” said Kithaura.

He said that any parties that promote immorality in the society are banned and are not going to be allowed. He issued a warning that any of those attending will be arrested including the organisers.

“These are the places where you get youths smoking bhang and it has come to our attention that nowadays they don’t smoke, they prepare cookies and cakes containing illegal substance.
