The striking tribulations that have plagued Harambee Stars could soon be a thing of the past if the Kenyan government can fastrack the citizenship request by Sofapaka striker Umaru Kasumba.

The Ugandan who is yet to play any international match for the senior Cranes side has since bagged 11 goals in his 12 outings with Batoto Ba Mungu and could offer options to the Stanley Okumbi led charges considering that his status enables him to feature for Stars.

Kasumba revealed that despite his goal-hunting instincts,he rarely gets call-ups for his country a move he said has made him to reconsider his citizenship.

“If I get the opportunity then I will change my citizenship because I rarely get call-ups to the national team back at home (Uganda),”he said.

If he succeeds in his quest Kasumba will be the second foreign player to change his nationality following Bob Mugalia's move to forfeit his DRC Congo nationality for the Kenyan colors in 2010.
