Tom Mboya, a prominent Nairobi businessman who is alleged to have shot the Ranalo Restaurant owner William Osewe has been charged at the Makadara Law Courts with attempted murder.
The accused is reported to have shot Osewe on December 1 at the Hagon restaurant located along Thika Superhighway.
Led by Counsel Lilian Moraa, the prosecution asked Principal magistrate Angelo Kithinji to keep the suspect in remand for 10 more days pending further investigations.
"The suspect is an influential businessman and may interfere with key witnesses before the investigations are completed," she said as quoted by the Star.
"The incident is of double-shooting, is yet to be investigated and the victims of are still in hospital," she added.
However, the defendant asked to be released on a bond pending investigations but the judge ruled for a five-day remand to give the prosecution enough time for the probe.
