A middle-aged woman has killed herself after poisoning her four children in Rongai, Nakuru.
Out of the four, one child aged two died as they were being rushed to the hospital.
Her mother-in-law said she heard screams from the house before she saw the woman sprint out.
They realized the kids were unwell and called area chief to assist them with transport but one child died before a police car arrived.
The rest were rushed to hospital and treated.The following day, the woman’s body was found floating in a local river.
Area chief Richard Sigei said the woman’s husband had reported her at his office over illicit sexual affairs but things got worse.
"Richard had informed the family and elders about his wife’s promiscuous character. We held talks with them and she agreed to change. However reports kept coming that she was still stuck in extramarital affairs," he said.
The two bodies were taken to mortuary.
