Addressing the press on Wednesday in Kisii town when they demonstrated with their children to the education and county government offices, parents led by Victor Mong’are said they are going to remove their children from the school if the current deputy headteacher is not promoted.

They said they don’t want the new head teacher who was transferred to the school after the previous head teacher was elected to be KNUT secretary in Kisii central branch.

“As Kari primary school parents we have said here and we can’t change our minds if the deputy head teacher can’t get a promotion to be the school head," said Mong'are.

"We don’t want the new head teacher who was transferred to the school and we are going to transfer our children,” he added.

They also accused Kisii Central district education officer Charles Nyaribo of not welcoming their grievances and alleged that the new head teacher who got the transfer to the school a cousin of Charles Nyaribo, but Nyaribo denied the allegations.
