Kisumu county CeC for tourism Rose Kisia is on the spot for allegedly not promoting tourists in the county.
Kisumu County nominated MCA Farida Salim, speaking today at Kisumu hotel, challenged the CeC for tourism to locate its resources in seeing tourism is enhanced in the region.
The MCA noted that it is through tourism promotion that local investors would come to the region to initiate development ventures.
She said that the CeC should also create hospitality forums that would educate locals on how to be hospitable as tourists feared hostile regions.
Farida called upon Kisia to use youths in promoting their talents through tourism stating that through talent promotion youths would get occupied and would help advertise the region.
“We need to market our county properly to the local investors to help improve development agendas. This can only be done when the CeC for tourism sees that the tourism docket is fully and properly managed,” said Salim.
Her counterpart Caroline Ogot also emphasized on the importance of highly investing in tourism docket to help market the county.
She stated that the county had various tourist sites that needed to be fully utilised in order for more money to be circulated in the county.
