In an incident that occurred on Sunday night, property worth thousands of shillings were stolen from the school.

According to the school headmistress Tabitha Okenye, she got a distress call from the school watchman Alfred Ogeto at midnight concerning the theft, but her attempts to reach Chipilat police officers were futile.

“The school watchman called me at midnight informing me about the incident. I was unable to reach Chepilat Police post officers in time, though they responded later. It is unfortunate that our watchman was seriously injured and was rushed to Kapkatet District Hospital,” said Okenye.

Okenye confirmed that among valuables that were stolen included 15 bags of cement, 30 iron sheets and frames that were to be used in building new offices courtesy of the area CDF kitty.

“We lost several construction materials that were stored in the office by our contractors for the purpose of building new offices,” added Okenye.

According to area Chief Zablon Momanyi, his leadership together with police officers was investigating the robbery, assuring the school management that they would soon apprehend the culprits.

“We have started investigations and we hope culprits will be arrested soon. These are local people who know this place very well and the law will catch up with them,” said Chief Momanyi.
