Property worth millions of shillings was on Thursday destroyed in a fire incidence where stalls were razed at the Kangemi open-air market.

Nick Thuo, an officer from the Kenya Red Cross, said that some other residential houses were burnt by the fire.

Nairobi firefighters eventually contained the fire that broke out from one of the shops at around 3am in the morning.

No casualties were reported and police have launched investigations into the matter.
