The Kenyatta Avenue, where the hotel is located, had a long snarl up of vehicles, as tens of police officers kept vigil.

Awour's disruption of businesses activities drew mixed reactions from members of the public.

“This is amazing .Why should such a man draw such eager attention?” asked peter Mwangi, a curio trader at Kenyatta Avenue, adding that it affected their business in the early morning hours.

“Awour's miraculous healing has made him to command such attention that no one dares to come to our stalls,” said James Kilonzo, another curio trader.

Awour has been at Nakuru Town since December 31 2014 for a healing mission, presiding over a crusade at Kaptembwa grounds, where disabled people surrendered wheel chairs with others discarding clutches.

Other faithfuls claimed to be cured of life -threatening diseases like Hiv/Aids, with others alleging to have been healed of blindness and deafness.

Awour's sermon on the New Year’s Eve, challenged leaders to seek truth and exercise integrity in serving Kenyans.

He further warned preachers who are driven by prosperity to repent and seek God's forgiveness.
