Nakuru County government have threatened to sue Prophet David Owuor’s Ministry of Repentance and Holiness over environmental degradation.
According to the county Environment Department head Kiogora Muriithi, the ministry followers are destroying trees by using twigs in their marches to celebrate the alleged resurrection of a Mama Rosa.
"This cannot go unpunished. The county government will engage with the church leaders to educate their followers on the need to conserve the environment in towns and their homes," Kiogora stated.
Rosa Rotirakori from South Pokot is said to have died and later resurrected.
Since the incidents, followers have been holding processions across the county every Sunday.
