Whenever you pass by Kilimani Primary on Sunday mornings, you will be met by worshippers on their way to a Repentance and Holiness service at the school.

The dedication of the herd is not just to God but also to the man they believe to be a sent messenger: Prophet Dr Owuor.

While you might know the followers of Owuor and even interact with them, the man of God himself remains a mystery as seen from what happens whenever he visits a place.

He is handled in a completely different manner.

First, out of love, the followers clean the roads where Owuor will pass. This does not mean sweeping the road; it means complete washing and scrubbing with soap and water. And because of faith, the faithful commit themselves to do all this without pay.

And if Owuor is visiting these small towns, be sure that all hotels will be booked fully. Every time he is in a town like Nakuru you will never find a place to sleep because travellers have flocked into town to see him.

Also, the man of God receives too much security. He is always guarded by his security team and members of the host church of the area. He rides in a motorcade of some luxurious cars with the bouncers moving by the sides to guard him from any danger.

To receive Owuor, supporters line the road, sometimes for hours, as they await the coming of the man of cloth.

When he begins to talk, Owuor always warns the sheep about a coming rapture and asks them to desist from common sins like adultery and theft.

One thing that distinguishes Owuor from other preachers is his no-money policy where he discourages his bishops and pastors from demanding cash in church.
