Activists Bonface Mwangi took to his twitter handle to criticize the prophet and the followers of the church.

"Nakuru, Eldoret has a problem, this man Prophet Owuor, people deserting their their families, work to 'serve his ministry,"' he posted on twitter.

"My mother died young. She was in a cult that didn't allow followers to go to hospital. Like prophet Owuor's," Mwangi said.

"As a son whose mum was in a cult, the gospel of 'desert family, work,  follow the prophet miracles' is false," he added.

"Nakumatt Nakuru has adverts of Prophet Owuor crusades, cars with loud speakers are going round telling people to bring the sick for miracles. An investigative piece on Prophet Owuor ministry is needed," he added.
