Prophet David Owuor has distanced himself from claims that he caused the death of his driver after a visit to Kakamega forest.
The driver is alleged to have died just hours after seeing Prophet Owuor of the Ministry of Holiness and Repentance praying to a snake in Kakamega forest.
In a statement this week, the Prophet denied the claims saying the peddlers of the news were only out to taint his name.
According to tuko.co.ke, the blogosphere was awash with the news that Owuor’s driver died mysteriously following their visit to Kakamega forest.
It is reported that Prophet Owuor had allegedly asked his driver to take him to the forest for prayers and upon arriving, the man of God and the driver went into the forest leaving behind a guide.
The guide had been provided to show them around the forest but according to earlier reports, Prophet Owuor said that the Lord would guide him around the forest as he was going for prayers.
The two went deeper into the forest and at some point, Owuor asked his driver to remain behind to allow him ample time to speak to the Lord.
The driver started to worry after Prophet Owuor spent over two hours in the forest and he decided to go check if he was ok.
Following an extensive search, the driver was shocked to find Owuor kneeling down in front of a huge snake uttering incomprehensive words.
The prophet then quickly grabbed his clothes as the snake disappeared in the nearby thicket.
Prophet Owuor who was ashamed at that point warned the driver against sharing about what he had seen with anyone.
The driver however is said to have narrated the whole ordeal to his wife upon getting home that evening and after sharing the story, the driver is said to have passed on mysteriously while seated in his living room.
Prophet Owuor in response said that the rumours were not true and only aimed at assassinating his character and blackmailing him adding that his drivers are all alive.
He said that he always moves around with personal assistants and some elders from his church and therefore he had never been alone with his drivers.
