He used to wear banana leaves and his hair grew over his ears.

He never talked to anybody so many people knew that he was dumb.

He had made many prophecies in Kisii land and they came to pass.

He prophesied on “amandegere” growing in Kisii land.

The term “amandegere” means small mushrooms.

He had prophesied that the small mushrooms would grow in ”Getembe."

Kisii town was known as Getembe in the past.

This meant that Kisii town would grow and have big buildings.

He had fortold about the coming of the white men in Kisii and it came to pass.

The first time Sakawa spoke directly was the last time he was seen.

He told people to gather three bulls and prepare them for slaughter.

By night fall, the bulls were ready and by dawn the Gusii clans were gathered.

Women danced as the calabash horns rung through the valley.

Sakawa then told them that it was the last time they could see him around.

He told them his dream about the white people who were to come would pass.

This was his prophesy;

“There are new people who are coming and they are not like us. They are like giant babies with the color of new born babies. They will be wearing mushrooms on their heads and will be strong than babies. They will be having metal sticks that will produce fire from them. The fire will not be like the one for cooking but will burn our houses down," said Sakawa.

As soon as he finished narrating his dream, his banana leaves bust down into flames and that was the end of him.
