Nyando MP Fred Outa has dismissed a proposal by former Nyakach MP Peter Odoyo that county slots be divided among the seven counties a head of the general elections.
Outa said that there will be no slots to be divided noting that the electorates will have the last say.
He said that anybody wishing to contests should come to the ring and allow the electorate to exercise their constitutional right.
“I want to tell my brother that there will be nothing like sharing slots. Come to the people ask for votes and wait for elections,” he said.
Speaking in Muhoroni on Saturday during the burial of Prof Ayiecho Olweny mother, Outa said no body will be favoured in the coming polls.
Odoyo had proposed that the slots be divided noting that Nyakach people got a raw deal from the 2013 general election.
He said that Kano and Seme people got everything in the county leaving Nyakach, Kisumo and Kajulu people without anything.
“We are in the cold in this county government and we must do things differently to allow every community to enjoy the cake,” he said.
The former MP said this time round, the leaders must now sit down and divide the positions among the seven sub counties so that nobody cries foul
