The Cabinet Secretary for ICT Joe Mucheru has said that the draft law that requires Kenyans to get a clearance from the Kenya Film Classification Board[KFCB] will be amended.
The new draft law has not been received well by Kenyans especially bloggers and artists are also in full opposition of the same.
According to the proposed law, any Kenyan posting a video or such content will need to have it classified by KFCB and law enforcers will be allowed to stop video shooting in an event that they feel does not run along with the KFCB regulations.
According to Mucheru, the possibilities of the amendment are based on the reactions his office has received from the general public.
“Other views will come in and I think that at the end we will get a position where we cannot kill innovation… so I think the country should not be panicking," Mucheru is quoted by Nation.
