Speaking yesterday at Nyabururu Girls, Chitago-Borabu Ward representative Albert Oino, who is also the Chairman of Youth and Culture Committee, said that the county is set to invest more in the nurturing talents in the county .

“I have drafted a bill that will ensure our department is allocated more funds in order to promote youth empowerment activities across the county,” he said.

Oino said that the funds will be used to start a talent nurturing academy that will encompass personal creativity such as poetry, literary work and songs as well as initiating various sporting competitions.

“I am in talks with our Governor James Ongwae who has formerly informed me that programs are already in place to start a talent search academy”, said Oino.

He urged the youth in the county to desist from engaging in drug abuse and crime and instead come up with development projects that can source funding from the county government.
