A track driver was on Thursday robbed of Sh30,000 cash and a mobile phone worth Sh10,000 by a prostitute at a lodging in Nakuru town.
According to Emmanuel Wanjohi, a guesthouse manager, his worker discovered that the track driver was in critical condition on Thursday evening just a few hours after a woman who the driver was with had left.
He said the track driver whom he identified as Mohammed Abdalah had checked in at the guesthouse that morning after parking his trailer at Maili Sita business centre a stone throw away from the guest house.
Wanjohi said that the driver was later joined by a middle-aged woman whom they dined and wined with at the room for over eight hours before she left.
“One of our workers found the door open and noticed the driver was unconscious when he went to collect empty bottles and kitchen items from the room.
"She alerted me and together with other workers went to investigate what was transpiring. We suspect the woman spiked him. This is common to unsuspecting strangers,” said Wanjohi.
The manager added that he organised the track driver to be taken to the nearby Bahati health centre where he was treated and discharged.
“When he recovered he told us that he had lost Sh30,000 and a mobile phone worth Sh10,000.
"We are accommodating him on humanitarian grounds as he tries to contact his employer and family for help,” said Wanjohi.
