They have accused the MP of not constructing the Mathioya-Muguga road which he had promised during his campaign and have called for the county government to intervene.

According to the residents, the road has been impassable, especially during the rainy season and the time has come for the area leaders to intervene and make things right.

Sam Chege, a local businessman, said the area has also been a security threat during late hours when it rains, as thugs find it easy stopping motorists before stealing from them.

He said that they have complained to the area leaders but nothing has been done and have now issued a warning to the area MP to fix the problem.

Michael Kigen, a bodaboda operator, said that the road had ruined their work as they had to use another road to carry their normal duties which proved to be expensive for them.

Kigen said that during the rainy season, they opt to close early or not use the road completely, which has resulted in poor business operations in the area.

The two, who were speaking in the area with other residents on Tuesday, called on the area MP to recheck the issue since the road was in a poor state as far from 2012 during the regime of former MP Lewis Nguyai.
