Kisii County based youth leader Moses Kangwana has reiterated that they will continue to demonstrate until the government takes a quick action of their stand against Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
Kangwana said they will be matching on the streets every Monday as advised by Cord leader Raila Odinga until the commission gets out of office.
“The government needs to listen to the voice of people on the grounds and ensure that we have another commission that can lead us to the next election,” said Kangwana.
Speaking while holding peaceful anti-IEBC demos in Kisii the youth leader added that they are looking for the government to ensure they give a solution or else they will continue to demonstrate.
This comes barely a week after the Cord coalition said they will not participate in the 2017 general elections if the current Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners remain in office.
Raila said that there is no need of participating in the election as they had no confidence in the current IEBC commissioners.
He added that they will continue with their nationwide demonstrations every Monday until the commissioner’s bow to pressure from the coalition in a bid to pave the way for a team that will be acceptable by all parties.
