Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, and Siaya counties are the four counties that boycotted the October 26 elections.

This was after their favorite candidate, Raila Odinga, announced that he will not be on the ballot for the presidential race.

After IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati announced president Uhuru Kenyatta (for the second time) as the President-elect, these four counties shelved their democratic right.

This poses a risk to their counties' development as the national government will not concentrate more on them because they will be considered rebels.

In our Kenyan political history, areas that would support the government would not be left out in development.

This might be seen in the Kenyatta government too.

If these four counties do not show their support, they might not receive major development funds from the national government.

Since the '60s Kisumu suffered for antagonizing the state.

This has now been adopted by Siaya, Migori, and Homabay.

Will the national government fund development in these counties?
