Residents of Butula sub-county in Busia County took to the streets to protest after a female Administration Police officer allegedly shot dead a bodaboda rider.
Sources said the late was shot after he is claimed to have hit a primary school pupil.
The officer is said to have tried to stop the rider who declined to take instruction from the officer prompting her to shoot him.
Western region police boss Moses Ombati said he had dispatched officers to find out what happened.
"I have dispatched a team to the scene to ascertain what's going on," he said as reported by the Star.
A resident who spoke to this writer said residents burnt one of the houses at the Burinda Police Station.
The protesters called for the transfer of the killer officer.
