Funyula MP Paul Otuoma’s supporters in Busia county have taken to the streets to protest the declaration of area governor Sospeter Ojaamong' as the winner in the ODM gubernatorial primaries.
According to the provisional results announced Friday morning, Ojamoong' garnered 92, 358 votes while his rival managed to get 63,752.
The protestors have demanded for their candidate, Otuoma, to be declared the winner or else they won’t vote for ODM party leader Raila Oding, as the president in the August 8, polls.
“Since yesterday (Thursday) they have been stealing rigging votes. Busia wants Otuoma, Our right is Otuoma,” said one of the protestors.
Otuoma has rubbished the results saying they have been manipulated by Ojamoong’.
