The Provincial Administration in Naivasha has launched a crackdown on all illicit brews.
Speaking in Karagita area where hundreds of litres of Chang’aa was nabbed, the leaders said they will not relent in the war against illicit brew.
They said the crackdown will continue in other areas, as they seek to flush out perpetrators of the trade.
“We cannot allow our children to be influenced because of these few bad elements, we will bring an end to this type of alcohol, to the bhang. We will arrest all those involved in this kind of business and ensure they face the law,” said one officer.
They further requested help from the locals in identifying those culpable of the business, which will make it easier for them to manage.
“our request as the government, the people should help us, with information, with you joining us in such raids,” he added.
The officers nabbed over 600 liters of the illicit brew, which were stored in huge drums and smaller jerricans.
They directed the area chiefs and their assistants to ensure the culprits, who managed to run, to ensure they are all arrested.
