Collette Suda, Principal Secretary for Higher Education, has been honoured by the French state for her spirited efforts that resulted in a partnership between the two countries in higher education and research.Ms. Suda was given the medal of ''The order of palms'' in the grade of commander, effectively becoming the first Kenyan to be so honoured.In a speech expressing her gratitude for the recognition, she hailed the partnership as a shining example of the good bilateral relations between France and Kenya.''Kenya is committed to strengthening this cooperation further,'' Ms. Suda said.Involved in the partnership are the Kenyan government, the French government, and three French institutes in Kenya; The Research Institute for Development, International Cooperation Centre for Agronomic Research Applied to Development and the French Institute for Research in Africa.
