The Ministry of Education has pledged its continued support for the East Africa secondary school games.
According to education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, the games help identify and nurture talents in students.
"As a ministry we will continue to offer our moral and financial support to ensure that the games continue," he said.
Speaking at Kipchoge Stadium during the closing ceremony of East Africa secondary school games on Saturday, Kipasang said talent is more paying than any other profession.
"We will also include Music and Drama in the next competitions, our intention is to ensure students get paid using their talents," he said.
He however urged school heads to not only concentrate on class work but also co-curriculum activities which are now paying very well.
The games attracted close to 3,000 students from seven African countries and 1,000 officials.
He said:"The government will expand all technical institutions in a move to encourage youths pursue technical courses."
"15 billion Kenya shillings has been set aside for expansion of existing 80 technical institutions and constructing 60 new ones," he said.
