Public Service and Gender Affairs Principal Secretary Mwanamaka Mabruk has urged residents in Kwale to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid.
Speaking during the county's consultative forum at the Kenya School of Government in Matuga, Mabruk asked the residents to embrace Jubilee for the sake of development."I am one of you, your sister, your mother and a daughter from this place. I was given this job although there were many of us," she said, as quoted by The Star. The PS, who highlighted the national government's achievements in the county, emphasized the need to have a good working relationship between the two levels of government. While challenging residents to be engaged in the running of the county, Mabruk said that is the only way the devolved government can be able to address its needs. This comes at a time when civil servants are under pressure from the opposition to keep off politics.Kwale is considered an opposition zone. However, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been making inroads in the region with a view to sway the region into the Jubilee formation.
