Pharmaceuticals Society of Kenya chair Dr Paul Mwaniki has said he will work to ensure that the distribution of drugs to hospitals is stopped due to the ongoing doctors strike.
Dr Mwaniki said it was useless for the society to continue supplying medicines to hospitals when professionals to administer them were absent.
"PSK will stop the distribution of drugs to hospitals beginning January 2017 due to the ongoing medics strike. It is useless to have the drugs in the hospitals when the professionals to deal with the drugs are on strike," Dr Mwaniki told journalists on Friday last week.
He further called on the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and the government to strike a deal and stop the ongoing medics stand-off.
According to Dr Mwaniki, the strike is causing suffering to Kenyans and it should be brought to an end.
