Over 1000 Public Service Vehicle owners are meeting from Monday to Wednesday in Nairobi to address the rampant misconduct in the PSV business and possible measures to take to manage the menace.
The Matatu Owners Association third National Delegates Council meeting and expo will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center.
“The theme of the conference will focus on ethics, integrity and safety on the Kenyan roads,” said MOA chairman Simon Kimutai.
Indiscipline and lawlessness among the PSV operators will be widely discussed he added.
“The indiscipline by our PSVs operators has surpassed road carnage. The conference will focus on how to change the road menace and the behavior of the PSV touts and drivers,” said Kimutai.
He added that the association will partner with automobile companies, National Transport and Safety Authority and National Youth Service to retrain PSV drivers and touts.
