Entrepreneurs operating pubs in Mlolongo town have been cautioned against admitting children to avoid being at logger heads with the liquor act popularly known as "Mututho law."
Addressing pub owners in the town on Saturday, Simon Mwangi, a long time investor in the industry said those admitting under 18 in their premises were tarnishing industry’s name.
"I am worried that some pub owners are admitting under 18 in their premises. This is against the law,” says Mwangi who adds that he has been in the business for the last 36 years.
Mwangi attributed his success in the industry to self discipline and strict adherence to all laws that regulate the industry.
He asked businessmen in liquor industry to ensure they familiarise themselves with all laws that regulate the industry.
The investor blamed new investors in the industry of being fond of violating simple laws and guidelines stipulated by regulating authorities thereby tinting names of all investors in the industry.
Mwangi warned such entrepreneurs and called all those trading in liquor and either have pubs or restaurants to be brothers keepers to ensure none admitted children in their premises.
He expressed his worries that non law abiding liquor traders would take advantage of the holiday and allow school going children access into their premises.
