Public officers from Mavoko Sub County have been warned against engaging in corrupt dealings, which is against their work ethics and constitutional spirit.
Addressing the press in his office on Friday, area deputy county commissioner Makori Kodeck said it was unethical and criminal for public officers to practice corruption.
“It is unfortunate that some of the public officers from Mavoko Sub County are still accused of engaging in corrupt deals by members of the public,” said Kodeck.
Kodeck warned the culprits that they will not escape punishment, saying the will pay someday for their bad deeds.
He said such officers were compromising and undermining efforts of the Office of the President to curb and completely eliminate corruption among public officers in all sectors across the country.
“All those who embrace corruption in their lines of work should know that they will one day pay for it, even if the law does not catch up with them, they will pay for it someday,” said Kodeck.
He called on public officers within the sub county who are fond of collecting bribes or generally operating against professional ethics as stipulated in their job contracts to change and serve rightly to avoid the consequences.
