An educational lobby, Track One Alliance for Learners Protection Organization has written to the Public Service Commission of Kenya protesting at the continued being in office of some two ministry of education employees despite reaching the retirement age.
The lobby Director Innocent Masara said the acting director general ministry of education and the director of human resource have passed the mandatory retirement age of 60 years as provided in the public service regulations.
The copy of the letter seen by this reporter reads, “They are being retained in a public office denying the more qualified Kenyans chances to work,” he said.
Masara wondered why the public service commission is being discriminatory in effecting the retirement of some civil servants.
“What and how different are they that they should be kept in office beyond the retirement age limit,” he asked.
He directed the Commission to ensure that those individuals are retired as per the retirement rules within 30 days to give room for more qualified and deserving Kenyans to serve their country.
The lobby group is threatening that should the Commission fail to take appropriate action then they will be forced to institute legal action in court.
