Catholic faithful and locals in Eldoret town and its environs will on Friday have a chance to view the body of Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop the late Cornelius Korir ahead of his burial set for Saturday.
Bishop Korir's body is expected to be moved from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary to the Eldoret Cathedral where the public will have four hours to view the body.
Later at 3PM, there will be special mass at the Cathedral grounds before a night vigil beginning 6.00PM.
"We expect to have up to five different mass overnight before we release the public to head to the Eldoret Sports club for the funeral mass," said Fr Frederick Njoroge, who is in charge of Eldoret Catholic diocese communication department, Thursday.
"Everybody is welcome to view the body on Friday but the cathedral grounds will be opened only for limited people on Saturday," he added.
Bishop Korir who died at his home in Elgon View on October 30 will be laid to rest at the Eldoret Cathedral according to the Catholic church doctrines. President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto are expected to be among those who will give Bishop Korir his final send-off.
