The National Transport Service Authority (NTSA) has cautioned members of the public against erecting speed bumps on major roads without authority.
Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday, NTSA Director Francis Meja said that it was dangerous for citizens to erect bumps using hazardous materials without signage.
“Some people are using very unsafe materials to erect speed bumps on the roads. That is very risky and might lead to more harm than benefit,” Meja said.
Meja further confirmed that the transport authority will be removing illegal speed bumps from all roads across the country.
“We have received reports on bumps placed in very risky positions. We will also be removing them,” he said.
