Now fuel consumers in Garissa County ought to be ready to dig deeper into their pockets following petroleum products reviews on Tuesday by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
According to the latest development by ERC, Super Petrol has increased by Sh1.92 per litre, Diesel by Sh3.34 per litre as Kerosene by Sh3.82 per litre. This means that Kerosene, which is mainly used by poor homes for lighting and cooking retails at Sh55.37 per litre.
On the other hand, Petrol prices will retail at Sh90.74 while diesel, which is mainly used by trucks, buses and industrial machinery, retails at Sh78.29 per litre.
“In accordance with Legal Notice No.196 of 2010 on The Energy (Petroleum Pricing) Regulations, the Energy Regulatory Commission has calculated the maximum retail pump prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15th June to 14th July 2016,” the ERC said in the statement.
ERC has cited rising global oil prices as the basis for the upward adjustment of the latest petroleum prices.
Prices have also fluctuated in other parts of the country with Mombasa County recording the lowest prices where fuel is cheapest.
