Nakuru county leadership has condemned the recent behavior of a section of Murang’a county Assembly Members who engaged in fistfights leaving some of them with injuries.
The Nakuru leaders are now calling for firm action from the party leadership against them for breach of conduct.
Speaking at Mercy Njeri primary school during the thanksgiving party of Menengai west MCA Simon Mwangi, Nakuru county governor Lee Kinyanjui said the act was callous and erodes the confidence of the public in their leaders.
“What happened in Murang’a is unfortunate in this era, so shocking to see an MCA getting a stone to hit a colleague who has been pinned down, it amounts to attempt to murder somebody and action needs to be taken against them to deter others across the county from such habits,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Kinyanjui lauded the appointment of his predecessor Kinuthia Mbugua to be statehouse comptroller saying such position will help advance the interests of Nakuru.
On his part, Nakuru county assembly speaker Joel Maina Kairo assured the residents that as the leaders within the assembly, they will handle their issues with decorum and soberly.
“You will not hear of us engaging in such an embarrassment to the house, we will always strive to build consensus and dialogue among ourselves even in closed chambers to iron our any differences that may arise” he said.
